"I am HAPPY to report that ALL 12 eggs are fertile, and the babies are developing fine. Because they are white eggs, it is very easy to see what is going on. The fact that chicks are developing in all 12 eggs is actually REMARKABLE. One eggs was from January 13th. and 12 days old by the time it went into the incubator! Eggs collected in January are usually not as fertile as eggs collected later in spring. On top of it, we had a snow storm and the eggs went through the postal system! So, whatever you are doing with your birds in terms of care, keep it up!

Now, I am not counting my chicks before they hatch, but things are looking pretty good. Thank you!"

First hatch was very successful - lots of little leghorns running around and they were great hatching, very quick.  I didn't track numbers precisely but I know a few were pulled out when I first candled and a few don't hatch.  On the whole though they were some of the best I had.

The BCM and cuckoos are hatching as we speak.  Candled and they were all quite fertile.  Will let you know how they proceed.
